Salute to Brant 2020 - #LoveLocalBrant

Posted On Thursday September 24, 2020

Today (September 24, 2020) has been circled on a number of people's calendars for just over a year now. Today would have been Salute to Brant 2020, a day that the Brant business community comes together and celebrates achievements and milestones of the previous year. This year, however, is very different with the pandemic preventing Salute to Brant Business to take place. And while Salute to Brant Business 2020 is unable to proceed as planned, we should use this day to “Salute” local Brant Businesses who are working hard to serve their customers in these incredibly challenging times.

Since the onset of COVID-19, Brant Businesses have continued to show resilience, optimism, and perseverance throughout the last 6 months. Brant businesses have continued to amplify and contribute to the fight against COVID-19, and a number of these businesses have been recognized provincially (See https://invest.brant.ca/TrilliumNetwork). This includes shifting operations to build barriers and shields that can be used to stop the spread and keep essential workers around the province safe.

Brant businesses have shown that we are truly here for one another (see https://invest.brant.ca/BusinessesGivingBack). This includes (but certainly not limited to) companies donating lunch to our frontline health care workers, donating flowers to help brighten the day of those living in long term care facilities who had not seen families in weeks because of physical distancing requirements, and supporting their fellow small business owner by offering discounts if they show a receipt from a local business.

So you might be wondering, “How can we “Salute” Brant businesses this year”? You can salute Brant businesses by visiting your local farmers market or butcher to pick up dinner for tonight. You can salute Brant businesses by buying for a local small business either at their location or from their online store if offered!

So today, lets Salute Brant Businesses by continuing to shop and support local businesses and continue to #LoveLocalBrant.
