We Need the Business Community to Help Shape the Strategy for a New Proposed Cainsville Community Centre

Posted On Wednesday November 28, 2018

The County of Brant invites the Business Community to provide input about what needs exist in Cainsville that will help shape a new proposed Community Centre.

“A Feasibility and Space Needs Study for the Cainsville Community Centre is underway,” said Kathy Ballantyne, Director of Parks and Facilities for the County of Brant. “We would like to know what kinds of activities are important to the community. For example, are seniors activities or youth activities needed? We also want to know what design elements are important. For example, are outdoor patios, green space or large multi-purpose rooms important?”

The Study will examine community needs, demographics and gather citizens’ opinions.

Following the Study, architectural concept drawings and costing options will be presented at a subsequent Public Meeting.

In June 2018, the County of Brant acquired 8.9 acres of land, on the corner of Ewart Drive and County Road 18, with the intention of building a new Fire Hall and a new Community Centre, if warranted.

“Your opinion is important to us,” said Ballantyne. “We want to hear from you. Your thoughts will help shape the overall strategy for a proposed Community Centre in Cainsville.”
